Atchison Cave Storage Facility: It’s Like the Batcave But Really Exists!

batcaveThis auction is definitely one of the odder ones we’ve come across as of late. It’s for the Atchison Cave Storage Facility, an underground storage facility and property consisting of 125.25 acres and about 2,714,075 square feet of underground storage facility. This man-made cavern was formed as a result of room-and-pillar limestone mining operations that occurred from 1886 to 1944. These operations ended up creating two interconnected mines, known as the East Mine (about 15 acres) and the West Mine (about 45 acres). The developed portion of the mine, which is about 1,013,000 square feet, includes humidity controlling equipment, has a paved floor, and is fully lit. There are even administrative offices, restrooms, and more located inside the mine. Before you find out everything you want to know about this batcave…errr…we mean save storage facility, be sure to activate your free account first! It’s completely free so you’ve got nothing to lose.
