But what many people don’t know is that Rolls Royce also makes turboshaft engines designed for small aircraft like planes and helicopters. And now currently up for auction via a popular a popular seized government auction website is this Rolls Royce 250-C20B Engine. This engine features four to six-stage axial and single-stage centrifugal compressors, two-stage LP turbines, two-stage HP turbines with a hydromechanical fuel control system, and a gearbox with a 6,000rpm output. Sounds impressive right? Well it sure is! The M250 engine remains the industry-standard, and an estimated 16,000 of these engines are currently in service.
